Through the promotion of AEDs and increasing CPR and AED awareness, the EHS AED Registry is committed to helping save lives in Nova Scotia and beyond. The core function of the registry is to help improve sudden cardiac arrest survival rates by rapidly linking AEDs, AED responders and sudden cardiac arrest patients.

Relationship to the Government

Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC) has a close working relationship with the government of Nova Scotia. Emergency Health Services (EHS), a division of the Department of Health, regulates ground ambulance and air medical transport operations in the province. EMC has a long-term contract with EHS to manage these operations.

Our success is measured on our performance in three key areas: clinical care, response time reliability and financial efficiencies. All components of our system work together to ensure we track the data for these measurements and consistently meet or exceed our requirements.
